MHRA Delivers Outcome on Public Consultation (MLX 364): The Regulation of Nicotine Containing Products (NCPs)

(PRWeb UK) March 9, 2011

On March 9th 2011 which was No Smoking Day in UK, the MHRA delivered its verdict on the public consultation, codenamed MLX 364: The Regulation of Nicotine Containing Products (NCPs).

The results are interesting to say the least and it appears that NCPs such as the electronic cigarette will undergo a further period of research before an official verdict can be announced.

Most of the responses were overwhelmingly in favour of NCPs (e cigarettes and other products) receiving some sort of official regulation, although how this regulation would be delivered is still open to much debate.

Jason Cropper, Managing Director of Totally Wicked E-Liquid, responded to the outcome by saying, ?The findings are very positive. We at Totally-Wicked believe that the MHRA should be commended for its judgement and obvious valued consideration it has taken from a significant wide base of stakeholders. It recognises, as we at Totally-Wicked recognise, that our business requires regulation to support the safest and highest quality products for the user.?

With fears of an almost instantaneous ban on unlicensed NCPs for the time being, allayed, The MHRA will organise the next intensive period of research which aims to be concluded and findings unveiled by the spring of 2013.
